The Problem

The problem that faces Sikhs in particular and also the wider world is that knowledge on Sikhi (the Sikh faith) is very scarce. Generations of Sikhs have not been able to understand the teachings of the Sikh scriptures (Guru Granth Sahib), let alone pass these teachings on to others.

Consequently, many Sikhs have grown up without an adequate understanding of what Sikhi is actually all about. Many have literally no understanding whatsoever. Similarly, the wider world has been left to find scraps of knowledge where they can.

This problem is particularly acute if you consider how misrepresented the Sikh faith is in the western and even eastern parts of the world. The Sikh identity is generally recognised, but there isn’t much depth of knowledge beyond this superficial level.

If not addressed, this situation could conceivably result in the eventual loss of all such knowledge altogether.

The Foundation for Sikh Thought firmly believes that the gems of the Sikh scriptures must be shared with the entire world. The magnificent teachings of the Sikh faith are simply astonishing and are set to bring a new wave of understanding of life and purpose to humankind.
